My mother is very important she is the woman who carried me for 9 months. She is the woman who put up with my nonsense ever since day one right up to now and she's still is. She is special, she's my all.
When I see my mum I see beautiful dark brown eyes, also dark fine black hair. When I look at my mum I see a hard working woman, I see wonder woman.
When I am near my mother, I smell a fresh bundle of delicate roses. I can smell my mum through the lilies that grow outside my house, she smells lovely.
I hear my mum through the Tongan church songs I hear. I hear her voice when my teachers give me advice or tell me to do the right thing.
Mothers are there for us more than we know it, mothers are very important to us because where would we be without them. I love you mum

Our Green Space
In my Aiga's (Group/Family) green space, we are starting to make progress in helping the little space in our school become a healthy green space. We are starting to make a worm farm so that we can collect the worm fertilizer from it to feed the ground and make it rich for planting.

Friday, 24 March 2017
In our green space, my aiga and I, found 5 new things living and growing in our space. We found out potatoes and kumaras were growing in our space, and we also found some very small worms, ants and maggots living in our space.

Our green space is filled with different types of insects, ants, ladybugs and bees. Our green space looks dry on the surface but below it is very moist, it is very dry during day time but in the night time it is very moist.

School is about to start again for a new year. Yay! Imagine that you walked into your classroom and your teacher asked you to stand up in front of the class and talk about the country that you visited. On your blog, you can:
- Post a short video clip of yourself talking about the country that you visited and the things that you learned (1 – 2 minutes)
- Type out what you would say to the class if you had 1 – 2 minutes to speak.
Heres My Video :
2. I would say:

Activity 2After four full weeks of planning and travelling, you are now safely back in New Zealand. You have now had some time to relax and to reflect on your experiences. What are two things that you have learned from your travels? On your blog, tell us about any two things that you have learned.
What I've Learned:
I have learned that Japan holds a lot of secrets that I haven't discovered before and that Japan has so many great places to explore.
Imagine that you have just arrived at the airport in Auckland. Your whole family is there to greet you. They can’t wait to hear all about your trip! You decide that you’ll go home and have a special meal together to celebrate your return. Your mum offers to make you anything that you would like to eat. On your blog, tell us what you would choose to have for your special meal.If it was me, I would ask for homemade hamburgers with ketchup, American-style mustard, onions, tomato and lettuce; Cajun-style wedges with tomato sauce and Greek salad with cherry tomatoes and lots of feta cheese. For dessert I would ask for vanilla cake with chocolate icing and neopolitan ice cream. What would you ask for?
What I'd Ask For:
I'd ask for Lu Sipi (Taro leaves, Lamb and fresh coconut cream) and Talo. For Dessert I'd ask for my mums special Trifle with a lot of whipped cream and Tiramisu.
The Canadian government has decided to build the longest walking trail in the world. It is called the ‘Great Trail’ and it covers 15 000 miles. Wow! For this activity, we are drawing inspiration from this walking trail and thinking about our own footprints.Your task is to use DrawIsland tool to create your own digital footprint. The footprint must include your name and the name of the country that you are visiting. Otherwise, you can decorate it in any way that you want. It’s totally up to you! Once you have drawn your footprint, save it, and then upload it to your blog. Here is an example of my footprint:
Here Is Mine:
These days there are, literally, dozens of different kinds of vehicles that we can use. Some of them are quite familiar (eg. car, truck, bus) but some are very unique and different. Watch this Youtube clip of the most Amazing vehicles ever made. When you have finished tell us which of the vehicles you liked the most. On your blog tell us the name of the vehicle and the reasons why you liked it so much. There are a number of pretty interesting options!
Why I Liked It :
I Liked the Suitcase Scooter because you can take your things with you in the suitcase, plus it's its better then a other vehicles because you can take what you came with instead of parking it and risking your vehicle and valuable things to be stolen. Even though this vehicle is slow, it's still worth buying.
Let’s imagine that the neighbouring town was about 30 kilometres away. There are a number of beautiful villages and interesting things to see along the way. You have four options for this trip. You can take a:
- Train – 25 minute ride; No stops along the way; $12 for the trip (return)
- Bus – 45 minute ride; Two stops along the way to look at interesting villages; $8 for the trip (return)
- Scooter – 1 hour ride; Unlimited number of stops; $5 for the trip (return)
- Bicycle – 2 hour ride; Unlimited number of stops but there are some hills along the way; $1 (return)
I would pick the bus because it's fast and you only make 2 stops along the way. Also you get a lot of time to see interesting things. Plus going to fast can cause a accident so going a bit slower would be much safer.

Bonus ActivitySadly, there are a number of animals in the world that are struggling to survive because they cannot find enough food to eat or a safe place to live. Many of these animals are dying and, in some cases, there are very few of them left. They are called ‘endangered animals.’ In New Zealand we have many endangered species, including the kakapo, a shiny green bird that likes to make its nest on the ground. Unfortunately, the nest is really easy to get to and other animals can easily steal the kakapo’s eggs. As a result, very few new kakapo are born. There are 55 kakapos in New Zealand right now. The New Zealand government is trying to save the kakapo. They are looking for creative ideas. What do you think they could do? On your blog, tell us what you think should be done to save the kakapo. Please be as creative as you can!
My I'll Do:
I will make a Giant glass box about 25 meters tall and 90 meters long filled with grass, trees and bushes. Also they will be protected from the cold outside temperatures and will be just the right temperature. They will have 20 minutes out of the glass box everyday to fly outside and then They will be given food then will be taken back inside the box.
Activity 2When you are at the zoo, you have the chance to learn about some animals that are specifically found in your country. They are called ‘indigenous’ animals. This means that they are originally from your country. Use Google to identify two indigenous animals from your country. On your blog, post a picture of the animals and tell us a bit about them. What are they called? Where do they live? What do they eat?
Red foxes are just like other foxes but a different breed, Red Foxes have white, orange and red fur. Foxes do not live in packs like wolves. Did you know that red foxes are related to dogs? Red foxes eat crickets, caterpillars, grasshoppers, beetles, crayfish, fruits, berries and grasses. It also eats birds and small mammals like squirrels, rabbits and mice. Red Foxes live in forests, grasslands, mountains, and deserts or sometimes in human farms.
Sea Otters have light and dark brown fur, Sea Otters are one of the smallest mammals. Sea otters live in the northern waters of the pacific. Sea Otters sleep in forests of kelp and sometimes the sleep under big pieces of seaweed. Sea Otters eat clam, frogs, eggs, muscles and snails.

Imagine that you have just entered the zoo. On your blog, tell us what you think you might see on your visit. You can start with this sentence:
I had just entered the zoo when, all of a sudden, I saw…Aim for a blog post of 8 - 10 sentences in length. You can do it!
I had just entered the Zoo when, all of a sudden, I saw a Red Panda running towards my direction. I wasn't sure if he was coming at me so I looked around, then the Red Panda Jumped on me. I was scared and not sure what it might do to me, I tried to take it off me but it wouldn't let me. I walked to where it's home was and tried to make it go home. The Red Panda pointed to it's home, and then I realized they have the Panda with a lizard and to be honest I couldn't blame the poor panda I'm so scared of lizards. I ran quickly with the Red Panda to the office and tried to convince them to take the Lizard out, but they just wouldn't listen. I tried putting the Red Panda in a new home in the bushes but it just wouldn't work. Then suddenly I came up with the best idea. I decided to buy the Red Panda and take it home and give it a real home with me. So I went back to the office hopping that they would let me buy it. I was so scared, the office lady walked up to me with a sad face, that would be $2534 dollars please with a smile. I jumped so high I screamed like a girl and payed the woman took my pet and went home.
Take a picture of yourself standing beside a popular place in your community. It can be anywhere that’s pretty popular in your area (e.g. a store, a restaurant, a marae, etc). On your blog please tell us about the landmark. What is the name of it? Where is it? Who goes to it?
This is me and my nephew at my mums work called Riva. The owner of Riva sold it to another person and the new owner called it Bold Eagle Diner. Riva was visited by my favourite NZ Actor James Rolleston. After coming once he had kept coming to Riva but sadly every time I went to my mums work I never saw him. Riva was such a great place, the food was so tasty. One time I actually got to work there, and lots of customers gave me a lot of tips. One of my favourite things about Riva was my favourite desserts Tiramissu & Red Velvet Cake.
Activity 2Let’s imagine that you have been asked to host a visitor from another country. They are going to come and stay with you for three days. During that time, you are expected to take them on a tour of New Zealand and show them some our most famous icons. Where would you take them? If it was me, I might take them to Mt Cook in the south island, to the Sky Tower in Auckland and to Chums Beach in the Coromandel. What about you? On your blog, tell us which three famous places in New Zealand you would go with your visitor.
Where I'll Take Them:
First, I would take them to the sky tower because the building is filled with so many things to do. Also the sightings from the top are so AMAZING.
Second I would take them to the museum in Auckland because it is filled with so much history people can learn. Also there is some pretty cool sculpture and statues, etc.
|The cost will be how many scoops there are.|
Activity 1On your blog tell us which of the icons you would most like to visit in your chosen country. Be sure to tell us why you have chosen it!
Where I'll Be: I will be at the Jigokudani Monkey Park because, I will really love to see a bunch of monkeys in a hot spring. Also seeing the little monkeys running around and swimming in the hot water would be so CUTE!!

Bonus ActivityIn New Zealand our national holiday is on 6 February. It is called Waitangi Day. What do you do to celebrate Waitangi Day? Do you go somewhere special? On your blog tell us what you do on that day.
What I do to celebrate Waitangi:
On Waitangi Day My family and I go to the beach or either we go somewhere far away from home. Waitangi is one my best holidays because going somewhere far away from home is always fun !!
Activity 2Create a brand new public holiday for the country. Use your creativity to come up with a name for the holiday and a short description of how people in the country celebrate the holiday. Do they all get the day off? Do they eat special foods or go to special events to mark the day?
Name & Events That Will Happen:
|There is even a sign saying it's too late to turn back etc. P.S|
Good Job Japan!! ;)
Lost Souls Day:
It's day when people all gather up together in Aokigahara to remember those who have decided to end their life there. Everyone shall bring fake lit candles and walk around the whole forest so those who have died know that people around them do care about them. Also it will remind other people who is alive that they should not end their life because there are people here always willing to talk to them about there problem. Everyone will take a day off and there will be free sushi for all those who have come.
Activity 1Imagine that you are visiting on the national holiday of your chosen country. On your blog tell us what you would eat, see and do on that day.
What I Would Eat:
I would eat Sushi because Sushi is a traditional food of Japan and Sushi originates from Japan.
What would I see and do:
I would be seeing a lot of people with Japan flags waving them around in the parade and little kids marching in the parade, ladies walking in the parade and soldiers marching too.

In New Zealand we have many museum and galleries. One of the largest is called the Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa or ‘Te Papa’ for short. Inside Te Papa there is a huge exhibition called ‘Gallipoli - The Scale of our War.’ It has information about a special battle, the Battle of Gallipoli, that took place during World War I. Many New Zealanders took part and many lost their lives. The battle started on 25 April 1915. We commemorate this battle every year by celebrating Anzac Day on 25 April. Visit the Gallipoli website. It will give you lots of information about this famous battle. On your blog, tell us three things that you learned about the battle.
What I Learned :
1. The first thing I learned was lice, ticks, flies and dead bodies were a major problem to the soldiers.
2. The second thing I learned was that it was easy for the Turks to shoot our soldiers because thy had high ground.\
3. The third thing I learned that was there food was so yuck and disgusting.

After exploring the gallery you decide to walk across the street to the national museum. It is an amazing place! There is so much information about the history of the country in this museum. It’s hard to know where to start! After walking for a little while you come across a display with pictures of children that were taken in 1901 (over 100 years ago)! In this picture, the children are working on a local farm, milking cows. They are not going to school. Back in those days, children usually went to school until they reached the age of 12 or 13. They then left school and went to work. Imagine that you were alive 100 years ago. How would you feel if you had to leave school at the age of 12? Would you be happy or sad? On your blog, tell us how you would feel.
What I'd Feel Like:
I will feel sad because leaving school not learning to your full potential is very poor. I wouldn't want to spend my whole life just milking cows, I would want to go and learn new things and explore.
When you walk into the local gallery, the first piece of artwork that you see is a painting by Wassily Kandinsky called ‘Swinging.’
While you are looking at it, a staff member at the gallery comes up to you and asks you for your opinion of the painting. What do you think of it?
On your blog please tell us:
- What do you think of this painting? Do you like it?
- If you could buy it and give it to someone, who would you choose?
What I'd Think of this painting? & Would I Like It?:
1.I would think that this is a piece good painting, I like the nice bright colours and all different shapes that are painted. I
2. I like this, because I think, I can see a figure of a person painting and paintings like this can have any meaning.
If you would but it and give it to someone, who would you choose?
I would choose my sister in law Debra, because she works with gallery, art and etc.,
Being the prime minister of a country is a big responsibility. Would you like to be the prime minister of New Zealand one day? On your blog tell us what you think. Would you like to be the prime minister? Why or why not?
No, because being prime minister is a big job, plus you'd have a lot work to do. Also Speaking in front of a big audience is not my thing because i'm always shy. Plus
Activity 2Some people say that the most powerful person in the world is the president of the United States. His name is Donald Trump and he became the president this past November when he beat out his competitor, a woman named Hillary Clinton. Google ‘Hillary Clinton’ to find out a little bit more about her. On your blog, post three interesting facts about Hillary.
1. Did you know when Hillary was young she was never interested in politics, she dreamed that one day she would be a astronaut or a baseball.
2. Did you know that Hillary has been to more than 100 countries.
3. Did you know Hillary won a Grammy award not for singing nor rapping, it was for the Best Spoken Word Album for her book.
Activity 1Here in New Zealand, the prime minister of the country is the Honourable John Key. Imagine that you are Mr. Key and you have the power to create laws (rules) that all people in New Zealand would have to follow. If I (Rachel) were the prime minister I would make a rule that everyone should eat lollies for breakfast. What three (3) rules would you make up if you were the prime minister? On your blog tell us what your three rules would be.
My Three Rules:
1. My first rule will be, that every worker, employ etc will be paid 20 dollars an hour.
2. My second rule will be, fast food places will sell not only their breakfast menu in the morning, but they will sell their lunch menu too.
3. My third rule will be, that all schools will start 1 hour earlier and finish 2 hours earlier.
